Cardamom

OK... How many of you have pulled out the recipe book to find a recipe but you are missing that one "who ever heard of" spice. Well I rummaged through my Norwegian cookbook for something new... found Fattigman. Hmm sounds interesting. So I went to the store with my list and found the cardamom spice. Getting home all ready for a new taste experience I made the little buggers... The spice is pretty boring! ha! Of course.. now what am I going to do with this bottle. I'm sure it will be the one that sits for the next 30 yrs. in the same spot. HA!
The recipe says to sprinkle the fattigman with white sugar... so since they were boring I added cinnamon to the sugar. Now they have some fun to them. I think it would be yummy to make up some white cinnamon roll glaze for dipping... but probably not this time.
I served these last night with some of my toffee scones. They are yummy this morning with a nice cup of coffee made with the left over cream also purchased for the fattigman.
I love to bake!

Fattigman - wow I haven't had them for years. All Norwegian cookies are pretty bland (pretty much white & sugary!), so I'm not surprised that the cardamom didn't add a lot of pizazz. Sounds like you jazzed them up.

Toffee scones - sounds great. Care to share the recipe?

I'm enjoying reading your blog!
