Thursday Craft

Declan's school is a small school and they have the ability to invite the parents of the students to come during this holiday season and share an activity with the whole school. What activity was up to the families choosing... Well!! For me that would have to be crafts! So I hunted for just the right thing. My personal requirement was it had to be baby Jesus based... and something that would keep as a reminder of Him... I searched the Internet and found the perfect image... "I can make that!"

So Tuesday and Wednesday, me and the kids painted and prepared so that we could take it to the school and let the kids assemble it.

While the kids assembled we talked about our Christmas trees at home and how there are ornaments the remind us of things... memories of the past....
I wanted this ornament to be a visual reminder of God's Gift to us (Jesus).... Christ is the light of the world... and we need to let that light shine (Star).... Jesus was placed in a manger..... and that we need to accept the gift of Jesus with our heart... we need to love one another.... And "For God so LOVED the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life!!!" MAN! When I started that verse ... "For God so loved..." and those kids just took off reciting the verse... it is the sweetest thing! How precious it is when we take God's word and share it! I encouraged them to use the ornament as a reminder... but also as a gift.... We can't keep Jesus all to ourselves we have to share God's gift with others.... It was a great experience and I thank the school for giving me the opportunity to come in!
